Personal Development Pathways

As a school we aim to provide a wide and varied curriculum. We are aware that all our students have different learning needs and therefore aim to provide an accessible curriculum for all. We have worked hard to ensure that we meet the needs of our students through our Personal Development Pathways.


Agored Cymru Level 2 Certificate in Work Related Education


Pupils will be given the opportunity to develop work related skills. Students will work towards achieving credits for each task completed. Examples of these units include Planning and preparation for work experience, Participation in an Enterprise Activity, Team Work, Interview Skills and Assertiveness and Decision Making. There are no examinations involved with this certificate however coursework must be completed on time and to a good standard.

ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness

A nationally recognised qualification delivered at Level 1 and 2. Pupils develop a wide range of personal qualities, abilities and achievements of young people as well as introducing them to new activities and challenges. Examples of units include; sport and leisure, expressive arts, work related, communication and independent living.

ASDAN Personal and Social Development

The Personal and Social Development (PSD) qualifications offer imaginative ways of supporting young people in becoming confident individuals who are physically, emotionally and socially healthy, being responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society and embrace change and managing risk together with their own wellbeing as well as introducing them to new activities and personal challenges. There are no examinations involved with this qualification however pupils must work hard to complete all coursework.


Prince’s Trust

The Prince’s Trust Achieve programme is led by our School Based Youth Worker which focuses on supporting young people to learn new skills, develop their confidence and self esteem and re engage with learning so they can reach their full potential. The programme is delivered at both a Level 1 and Level 2 standard and allows pupils to have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities related to Personal and Social Development, Life Skills, Active Citizenship, Enterprise and Preparation for Work.
